What Causes Cluster Headaches?

Sometimes called red migraines, histamine headaches, Horton's headaches, spenopalatine neuralgia, or cehpalalgia, cluster headaches are one of the least common types of headaches. The terms refer to a grouping or cluster of headache attacks.

Cluster headaches are similar to migraines in that the headache pain is related to an inflammatory process that results from the interaction of the blood vessels that cover the brain with the trigeminal nerve.
